Drumlins Country Club belongs to Syracuse University. It lies very near the university’s south campus. And last week it hosted a celebration for the 10th anniversary of the Franciscan Collaborative Ministries – led by a group of Franciscan friars and sisters. The FCM is a united response to the many social problems faced by the Northside of Syracuse, New York.

Sadly with a deep worldwide recession, the need for the FCM is greater than ever. But last week’s celebration focused not on how much time had elapsed but instead on the many people who have donated their talents to make the ministries thrive. This is the collaborative aspect of the ministries. People from various walks of life come together and make a positive change for the world.
