Baltimore Parish Bears Witness To Young Men’s Dedication to Franciscan Life

Last Saturday, Friars Nader Ata and Nicholas Romeo were in Baltimore, Maryland to profess their Solemn Vows as Conventual Franciscan Friars. The ceremony took place during Mass in Baltimore’s St. Casimir Parish. Friars, friends, family members, and parishioners joined Nader and Nicholas for this very important occasion.

Friar James McCurry – the Minister Provincial for St. Anthony of Padua Province – preached during the celebration. He also received Friar Nader and Friar Nick’s vows. The vows state that a friar will “live in chastity, obedience, and without anything of his own” for the rest of his life.

Now as solemnly professed friars, Nader and Nicholas have resumed their work. Friar Nader continues to study for the priesthood in San Antonio, Texas while Friar Nicholas teaches religion at St. Francis of Assisi High School in Athol Springs, New York.
