Some of the participants of the St. Francis Bible Camp

at the Franciscan Church of St. Bonaventure in Toronto, Ontario

This summer more than 200 children from the Franciscan Church of St. Bonaventure in Toronto, Ontario attended the St. Francis Bible Camp from August 10-14. The camp – held at the parish – introduced the youngest members of the congregation to Saints Francis and Clare as well as to the idea of what it means to be a Christian. The camp’s atmosphere was kept light and enjoyable.

It is never too early to start teaching our children about Christian values while using Saints Francis and Clare as exemplars of these values. If our children are instilled with these values early on in life, they will find themselves equipped to handle life’s many challenges. Sometimes, our world tends to be relativistic, which can be dangerous; children need a strong Christian foundation to tackle this relativism and make moral decisions in life.
