At St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Clarksville, Indiana, the staff and its pastor - Franciscan Friar Joseph West - understand that many parishioners have fallen on hard financial times over the last few years. With very limited budgets Catholic education for parishioners who are parents has sadly become unaffordable.
St. Anthony of Padua Parish has recently intervened to help deserving individuals who want to send their children to the local St. Anthony of Padua School by starting a Tuition Assistance Emergency Fund. The fund allocates monies to assist parents who are having financial difficulties but are active in the parish and school. Parents must also practice their faith at Mass and have a strong commitment to Catholic education.
In true Franciscan fashion of brothers and sisters helping one another, money for the Tuition Assistance Emergency Fund comes from generous parishioner donations at St. Anthony Parish. Those persons who are able can simply drop their donations into the Sunday collections basket or send them to St. Anthony Parish in a specially provided envelope.
