Allowing One's Faith to Grow

Bloomington, Minnesota
As we live our lives, we have to allow our faith to develop and grow. Our faith is not static. Parishioners at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church in Bloomington, Minnesota will have their opportunity to develop their faith early in 2010 when Molly Schorr – a youth minister – will speak at their church on the topic “Signs of God’s Love”. Her talk is meant to prompt thought and prayer. It will also help listeners to look at the world with more faith-filled eyes.

Francis receives his stigmata
Bloomington’s St. Bonaventure is a Conventual Franciscan parish. By fostering faith development, the parish reflects Francis of Assisi’s own conversion process. Over his lifetime, Francis worked hard to develop his faith. His conversion did not happen instantaneously at all. He prayed and listened to God’s voice until in 1224 he received the gift of the Stigmata – a powerful symbol of Francis’ imitation of Christ.
