Friar John Bamman's Profession of Solemn Vows
In an exclusive podcast, Friar John Bamman speaks about his life as a Franciscan and the Solemn Vows that he is about to profess in about an hour's time at the Our Lady of Consolation Shrine in Carey, Ohio. It was on a high school retreat called "Teens Encounter Jesus" at the very same shrine that Friar John met the Conventual Franciscans for the first time. Their way of life intrigued him to the point that he sought them out after the retreat. And on August 8th of this year, Friar John committed himself to the Franciscans for life.

When Friar John knelt inside the Our Lady of Consolation Shrine and professed his Solemn Vows, he did so into the hands of Friar Jim Kent, his Vicar Provincial. In our second special podcast, Friar Jim reflects on the importance of this Profession and speaks about how Friar John had to do a lot of work during his discernment to figure out what God wanted from him.
