Franciscan Week in Costa Rica

The “Inter-religious Prayer for Peace”
In Moravia, Costa Rica, the Feast of St. Francis on October 4th is a very important day for the local Conventual Franciscans. It involves prayer and togetherness. What is different than elsewhere is that the feast day is part of a Franciscan Week. This year events during the Franciscan Week included an "Inter-religious Prayer for Peace". Friar Victor Mora represented the Catholic faith during the prayer. Representative from the Buddhist, Islamic, and Jewish faiths also participated in the event.
St. Francis of Assisi is remembered around the world as a man who embraced others. When he met with the Sultan of Egypt, he discoursed with him about faith. Every man and woman was a brother and sister to Francis, loved and cared for by the little man from Assisi.
