Friar José Antonio Professes His Solemn Vows in Costa Rica

Friar José Antonio

Another Franciscan friar has taken an important step in his vocation and professed his Solemn Vows. Just last week, Friar José Antonio professed his Vows into the hands of his Minister Provincial, Friar Justin Biase in the St. Francis College Chapel in Moravia, Costa Rica. Many people attended José Antonio’s profession including Secular Franciscans, FrancisCorps volunteers, friends, family members, and fellow friars from the United States and Canada.

After the ceremony during which José Antonio committed himself to Franciscan life by promising to live in chastity, obedience, and without anything of his own, all attendees met in the college gymnasium where tables and chairs had been set up for a meal.

Trained in business administration, José Antonio will now work in an administrative capacity at St. Francis College. Being able to communicate in sign language, he will also continue working with hearing impaired people in his community.
