Conventual Friar is Honoured in Minnesota

Friar Juniper Cummings is on the right
In the spring of this year, Friar Juniper Cummings, OFM Conv. returned from his ministry in Zambia to the Franciscan Retreats and Spirituality Center in Prior Lake, Minnesota to receive the Franciscan International Award, which was presented to him at a hall in nearby Eagan.
Friar Juniper has led a very rich and faith-filled life as a Conventual Franciscan. A friar for 65 years and a priest for 60, the native Kentuckian was one of three founders of the Franciscan Retreats and Spirituality Center, which has been helping people move closer to God for more than 40 years.
Yet the founding of the Franciscan Retreats and Spirituality Center is only one of many great things that Friar Juniper has done throughout his life as a Conventual Franciscan. The friar’s other ministries have included amongst others a college professorship, leading retreats, and working as director of development for Our Lady of Consolation Province. Friar Juniper has also been Assistant General of the Order of Friars Minor Conventual as well as Minister Provincial of Our Lady of Consolation Province.
