of the Holy See

This year’s Annual Benefit Gathering for St. Luke’s Institute took place at the Apostolic Nunciature of the Holy See in Washington, D.C. The nunciature is the equivalent of an embassy for the Holy See. St. Luke’s Institute - which is located in nearby Silver Spring, Maryland – houses and assists in various capacities both religious and priests. The attendees at the benefit gathering for the institute raised $356, 330. Friar Paul Lininger, OFM Conv. was present at the event.
Friar Paul Lininger is executive director of the Conference of Major Superiors of Men or CMSM. His organization represents the more than 20,000 men in vows who live and work in various ministries across the United States. The organization keeps these men and their Orders connected to the Church in the United States and to other social groups. Much like St. Luke’s Institute, CMSM is also in Silver Spring Maryland. Both organizations exist to support persons whom God called to religious life
Friar Paul as a friar in the Order of Friars Minor Conventual understands how a religious Order works within the Roman Catholic Church. St. Francis of Assisi when he founded the Franciscans always made sure that his Order was part of the Church’s mission. Friar Paul’s efforts and those of many others in the CMSM do the same only for many Orders.
