Friars from Italy visit Toronto

(second from the left to the right) Friars William Spirito,
Enzo Galli, and Emanuele Rimoli
William Spirito, Enzo Galli, and Emanuele Rimoli are three Conventual Franciscan Friars fulfilling various ministries in Italy. Last month however they were at St. Bonaventure Friary in Toronto, Ontario. The purpose of their trip was based on the idea of solidifying the links of the international Conventual Franciscan community. The friars therefore observed how their brothers in North America live and work. During their stay in Canada they also had the opportunity to improve their English and to travel. Along with Friar Rick Riccioli from Canada, the friars experienced life in Toronto and the near-north. They also visited a few Canadian Aboriginal communities and saw Montreal and Quebec.

Conventual Franciscan Friars live in countries all around the world; life in these countries varies. But whenever Conventual Franciscan Friars get together, they always have a sense of connection. Whether living in Italy, Canada, or someplace else, their faith and Franciscan way of life unite them in a way that goes beyond nationality or language. Unity through faith is an incredible thing.
