Franciscan Vocation Director Promotes Vocations at Conference

for Catholic Men

Entertainment at the IGNITE conference

The IGNITE Catholic Men’s Conference took place at the convention centre in Syracuse, New York earlier this month. Franciscan vocation director Friar Eric de la Pena attended the conference to create greater awareness in the minds of the attendees about religious vocations as well as the Order of Friars Minor Conventual. A number of men did indeed ask Friar Eric about the Franciscans and took with them literature on vocations.

The IGNITE conference invites all Catholic men to participate in the Eucharist, reenergize their faith and live their lives responsibly. This year such great speakers as Monsignor Jim Lisante, Gus Lloyd, and Darrell Miller spoke to the attendees. The Most Rev. Robert J. Cunningham celebrated the Eucharist at the start of the day. The Most Rev. Robert J. Cunningham is Bishop of Syracuse.
