Candidate to the OFM Conv. speaks about

Franciscan Mission in Jamaica

Earlier this month, Jonathan Nix - a candidate to the Order of Friars Minor Conventual - visited St. Mary's, Above Rocks, and Missions - the Franciscan mission in Jamaica. In the above video, he speaks about how very inspired he is by the work that the religious in Jamaica are doing. Besides running seven schools and four churches, they also help maintain a clinic and a feeding program.

Jonathan noticed that the Franciscans in Jamaica fill a very important void by doing what they do. Without them countless people would have nowhere to turn during their time of need. Having the Franciscans in Jamaica therefore creates some stability as well as hope. All the Franciscan-run programs are after all indicators that change for the better is possible.
