Franciscan Retreat Examines Our Life Expectations
Brother Bob Roddy
The Franciscan Retreats and Spirituality Center in the Prior Lake area of Minnesota is an excellent place for groups and individuals to take time away from their busy schedules and reflect on their lives. With its director Conventual Franciscan Brother Bob Roddy and a staff of fellow Franciscans and lay persons, the Franciscan Retreats and Spirituality Center offers a variety of retreats that address many concerns that retreatants are dealing with in their lives.
One such retreat is called “Blessed Are Those Who Do Not Have It All Together”. In our current North American reality with self-help and motivational books, magazines, and television shows some of us pressure ourselves into believing that we can achieve the unrealistic lifestyle of perfection that they present. The “Blessed Are Those Who Do Not Have It All Together” retreat reminds retreatants that life is a constant work in progress.

We must maintain reasonable expectations in life
In its every aspect – including our faith – we have days when things are going well and days when everything seems to be falling apart. This is just how life works. We must through our faith and community reach a balance where we know that we are doing the best we can and that God is supporting us every step of the way. God really does love us in our imperfect, struggling state. Let us always remember that.
