Franciscan Collaborative Ministries Recognize Supporters

The FCM Awards - (from left to right) the St. Francis Peace Award, the Mother Marianne
Community Building Award, and St. Clare Achievement Award
On a Sunday at the end of September, many people involved with the Franciscan Collaborative Ministries (FCM) in Syracuse, New York attended a 12 pm Mass at the Conventual Franciscan Assumption Parish. Later their work for the FCM, which focuses on the improvement of life in Syracuse’s Northside neighborhood, was honoured at a luncheon in the St. Clare Gardens Theater. A Ghanian Dance Troupe performed for the guests and a panel discussion by the Knights and Dames of Malta highlighted that group’s many good works in Syracuse and other needy places around the world.
An award ceremony capped off the FCM’s special day of recognition. Friar Phil Kelly posthumously received the St. Francis Peace Award. The Knights and Dames of Malta won the Mother Marianne Community Building Award; while Mr. John Sindoni got the St. Clare Achievement Award. Mr. Sindoni has been active with the FCM since the organization’s founding in 1997.
