Conventual Franciscan Parish in Georgia Supports Church in Honduras

A wide selection of Honduran dishes

Santa Ana Parish in Campamento, Honduras has a sisterly relationship with the Conventual Franciscan St. Philip Benizi Parish in Jonesboro, Georgia. To celebrate this relationship, on a weekend this past July, St. Philip Benizi with its pastor Friar John Koziol held a Santa Ana Celebration.

Great company and delicious food

Parishioners who participated in the celebration ate a delicious breakfast of tortillas, scrambled eggs, fried plantains, and other delicacies. Every dish in the breakfast menu hailed in origin from Honduras.

The Tree of Prayers

At Mass during the Santa Ana Celebration, a second collection gathered funds for St. Philip’s Honduran sister parish. Some parishioners also met around a Tree of Prayers on which hung photographs of Santa Ana parishioners. Each parishioner chose a photo and took it home to pray for the person shown on it.
