Spreading the Faith

As followers of Jesus we are called to share our faith with others

At the Conventual Franciscan St. Clement Mary Hofbauer Church in Baltimore, Maryland, Deacon Nick recently reminded his fellow community members that evangelization is what we the followers of Jesus have to do. This is not as difficult. Evangelization is the sharing of something that gives us joy and strength and hope. When we share our faith with others, we do so because our faith is a gift that God wants the entire world to receive.

We can share our faith with others anywhere, even over a cup of coffee

Evangelization can happen in many ways; often it is a matter of two people chatting about a plethora of things when the one mentions his or her faith to the other. It really can be that simple. And if the other person is keen on exploring the Roman Catholic faith he or she can do so through the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA) program. St. Clement Mary Hofbauer's RCIA program starts this autumn on October 14, 2010 and ends on March 10, 2011. Participants meet every Thursday at 6:30 pm in the Parish Conference Room. The meetings are relaxed and stimulating. They last one hour. Coffee, chilled drinks and dessert allow participants to get to know one another and continue their conversation about faith.
