Championing Justice in Washington, D.C.

Friar Jude DeAngelo - chaplain and director of the Campus Ministry

at Catholic University of America

The Campus Ministry at Catholic University of America (CUA) in Washington, D.C. plays an important role in the lives of many students at the university. The ministry is staffed by Conventual Franciscan Friars and a talented and dedicated staff of laymen and women. Friar Jude DeAngelo serves as the Campus Ministry’s chaplain and director.

The friars at Catholic University of America are on campus to serve the needs of the community around them. They support students in their faith journeys, enhance the bonds of community, and encourage service to the vulnerable.

Service, in fact, is an important part of Catholic and Franciscan life. One of the ministries that the friars support at CUA is called Students on the Mount. Members of Students on the Mount work on campus to inspire their fellow community members to devote some of their time and talents to championing justice for all of our brothers and sisters. Individuals truly can affect positive change in the world. One only needs to look to Francis of Assisi for an example.
