Taking Action

Things change only when the interested individuals take action. At St. Peter’s Parish in Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey, the Conventual Franciscan staff wanted to make parishioners aware of the many opportunities available for them to get involved in the church The solution? A Community Day and Ministry Fair right on the parish property where besides fun and games, parishioners and general visitors alike could visit displays created by St. Peter’s various organizations. And to Pastor Friar Curt Kreml’s delight many people turned up for the event and signed up to become members of many of the organizations that were there. Friar Curt proclaimed that “We are Assisi on the Jersey Shore.” The spirit of St. Francis seems indeed to be alive and well in Point Pleasant Beach.
