FrancisCorps Continues to Follow the Franciscan Way

Brother Jim Moore – director of FrancisCorps – recently heard once again the following St. Francis of Assisi saying: "Start by doing what is necessary, then what's possible and suddenly you are doing what is impossible." The quote reminded him of incredible changes that we are able to affect in the world.

Greetings from the FrancisCorps-Costa Rica contingent
As director of FrancisCorps – the Franciscan volunteer program for lay persons – Brother Jim sees how the people in the program alter the reality around themselves by performing small tasks. Sometimes all one has to do is talk to someone for a few minutes or hand out sandwiches at a food pantry to shift the negative path of that someone towards something positive. Over the eleven years that it has been in existence, FrancisCorps has been active - through the work of its many members - in Syracuse, New York and Costa Rica. The organization has accomplished a lot through love, faith, and hard work. But more needs to be done; and with the power of faith it will be.
