Collecting Thick Coats for the Winter

St. John Vianney Church, Lithia Springs, Georgia

St. John Vianney Church in Lithia Springs, Georgia – a town northeast of Atlanta understands that the poor in its community will need heavy coats this winter to keep warm. The church has therefore started a coat drive and asked parishioners to deposit any coats they might want to donate into the box near the church kitchen.

Atlanta, Georgia is 18.3 miles from Lithia Springs

St. John Vianney is a Conventual Franciscan parish. Its pastor – Friar Carl Zdancewicz – and the other friars in the community attempt to reflect Francis of Assisi in everything that they do. Helping our brothers and sisters stay warm and safe this winter would surely be something that St. Francis of Assisi would approve of.
