Women's Perspectives

The Franciscan Church of St. Bonaventure, Toronto, Ontario
This autumn the Franciscan Church of St. Bonaventure in Toronto, Ontario will be holding a series of Life Skills Workshops for Women. Men and women are both equal, but our experiences of the world differ. And truthfully, women have often faced gross injustices in countries around the world.

Women face many unique challenges in our world
The series of workshops for women at St. Bonaventure is set to cover many different topics some of which include self-esteem, assertiveness, and boundaries. After completing the workshops, participants shall approach life with greater confidence. Challenging situations that they are sure to encounter, the participants will be able to solve using skills picked up at the workshops. The workshops themselves will be hosted by a highly qualified and energetic St. Bonaventure parishioner who wants to empower women.

St. Clare of Assisi
The location of the Life Skills Workshops at Toronto’s Conventual Franciscan parish serves as an important reminder of the role of women in the Franciscan family. St. Clare of Assisi was after all an early follower of Francis. Called by God to Franciscan simplicity and service, she stood up for equality as well as for the Franciscan way of life.
