Celebrating Women in the Bible

One of the many ladies at the “Hats off to the Women in the Bible” luncheon
St. Philip Benizi Parish in Jonesboro, Georgia recently celebrated women in the Bible with a special luncheon. Held in the parish hall, the luncheon offered guests a tasty meal and riveting stories about Old and New Testament women who gave witness to their faith. Luncheon participants were also encouraged to wear interesting hats to celebrate these women and to have fun.
The Religious Education Office at the Conventual Franciscan-run St. Philip Benizi Parish organized what was called the “Hats off to the Women in the Bible” luncheon. Four dedicated ladies – Mary Maudlin, Eileen Powell, Stephanie Alvarez, and Althea Fletcher – run the office and help provide opportunities for children and adults to discover their faith.
