Conventual Parish in Syracuse Creates Ministry For Young Adults

The most recent Young Adult Ministry event at Assumption Parish in Syracuse, New York

The Conventual Franciscans’ Vocation Office with its director Friar Eric de la Pena has established a Young Adult Ministry (Praise and Worship) at Assumption Parish in Syracuse, New York. The ministry welcomes young men and women who are hungry to develop their faith, move closer to God, and meet other likeminded people. Members get together on the fourth Thursday of each month.

The most recent Young Adult Ministry event took place recently at Assumption Parish’s lower Grotto Church. The theme for the event was “Planted and Rooted in Christ”. This year’s World Youth Day in Madrid was also based around this theme.

More than 20 men and women attended the Young Adult Ministry event. Live music from the parish’s music ministry and holy hour brought the event participants closer to the Lord. These men and women had the chance to take a break from their busy lives and pray in a peaceful environment. Afterwards they gathered for conversation and refreshments.
