When St. Francis of Assisi sat down with Sultan Malik al-Kamel in Egypt to talk about faith he began a tradition of Franciscan interfaith dialogue that continues today.

Earlier this month a number of female parishioners from Conventual Franciscan St. Lucie Parish in Port St. Lucie, Florida continued this tradition of interfaith dialogue when they attended an ecumenical open forum at the First United Methodist Church of Fort Pierce.

Communication if used properly has incredible power. When people from various faiths or cultures begin to speak with one another, they not only reveal the richness of where they are coming from but also show how many similarities all of us share.
