On July 31, 2009, Friar Andy Martinez was ordained a priest by Bishop Armando Ochoa at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church in El Paso, Texas. A few hours before the ordination, Friar Paul Schloemer sat down with Friar Andy and his confrere Friar-priest Maurus Hauer for a conversation about the two men's vocations, their ordinations, inspirations, and lives. This conversation is available in podcast format below. Friar Maurus, it should be noted was ordained a priest 64 years ago. He spent most of his life as a friar in the American Southwest. Friar Andy's ministry is in Angola, Indiana where he works with the many Hispanic people who have moved to the area in recent years.
